BILL CAMERON - has been teaching West Coast Swing since 1997. He travels throughout the U.S. and Canada to
teach workshops on WCS technique, styling, and musicality. He is known for his easy-going and relaxed
teaching style, while emphasizing proper technique, connection, centering, timing, and balance. Bill offers
private lessons, as well as regular weekly group lessons for beginner, intermediate, and advanced dancers.
JENNIFER LYONS - 2005 US Open 1st place All Star Jack & Jill dance champion.  International dance instructor /
owner of Twirl the Girl USA in Providence, RI.  Teaching for 16 yrs. and well known as a competitor, judge and
event promoter.  Travels in a wide variety of dance circuits including West Coast Swing, Ballroom, Latin,
Country, Hustle and Salsa.   After gratuating an extensive 1 yr "Teacher Training" program, she has also studied
dance as her minor at Rhode Island College.  Nicknamed "Dr. Dance", she is quick to diagnose where attention
is needed in your dancing and adds ease in her creative instruction to progress students at a rapid speed.  She
influences all with her unique flair and sassy style.  Jennifer provides a soulful, entertaining expression in her
interactive teaching approach in her dancing.  Living on inspiration, she was invited to Bangalore, India to

teaching experience of over 20 yrs.  With an emphasis on partnering essentials, they bring joy and confidence

LIGAYA WAKEFIELD - Classically trained in dancing starting at the age of five, and partner dancing for the last
10 years.  Fell in love with Swing Dancing in 1998 and began to compete on a national level, becoming a
nationally ranked dancer at the professional level.  Winning first place titles at Grand National Dance
Championship, North Atlantic Dance Championship, Mid-Atlantic Dance Jam, among others.  Became a National
Association of Swing Dance award winner (NASDE) in 2003 and US Open Swing Dance finalist as well.  She has
taught at large venues like Lincoln Center in Manhattan, and has taught and judged at many of the national
events.
JIM GUGLIELMO - With a background in country western, Jim began dancing west coast swing in 1997 and
competes in the advanced division.  Jim began dancing and competing nationally with his former partner,
Abigail Reed in 2002.  Their first routine took first place in the Rising Star Division at Summer Hummer 2005,
and second place at Dallas Dance 2005.  At that point they quickly moved into the Classic Division.  Shortly
there after, they began competing in the Showcase Division with a new routine,  placing second at Swingin'
New England 2006.
NORA VENNE - has been teaching various styles of swing since 1995. Her diverse dance background includes
that of swing, ballroom, country, cajun and zydeco, ballet, jazz and tap. She has traveled the country learning
from the top instructors, competing and dancing.

ARTE PHILLIPS - An international dance performer, choreographer and teacher.  His choreographic &
performing work spans music videos, top recording stars, theatre productions and musicals.  The US Ballroom
Champion, 5 time Star Search Finalist & winner of the "Gypsy of the Year" (Best of Broadway).  Danced on
numerous award shows as well as the Miss America Pageant & Broadway Bares.  Performed in several Broadway

SILVANA GALLAGHER - Known as one of the top professional Hustle and Theater Arts dancers in the United
States.  Having had a successful 10 year career with her partner, Brian Gallagher.  Silvana is now working
towards becoming one of the countries Top Competition Style dance instructors.  Having started with Ballet,
Hustle and Jazz, then moving on to Ballroom and Latin.  Silvana is fully trained in American Smooth and
Rhythm, and international Latin style ballroom, Theater Arts, Hustle, West Coast Swing, and Salsa.  Based in

LORI BRIZZI - Started teaching when she became hooked on the hustle and social  dancing. She then branched
off to all different styles of partner dance.   At the end of the last millennium, a renewed love of hustle
inspired her to start her monthly New York City Millennium Hustle parties, featuring a mix of contemporary and
classic Hustle, Salsa, Cha Cha and West Coast Swing. Because of its popularity, it has blossomed into New York
City's Premier Hustle Party. Lori and Millennium Hustle were recently featured on the History Channel series:
"Our Generation, The Disco Years". With Arte Phillips, she was the hustle teacher and performer at the popular

prestigious dance companies as "American Ballroom Theater" and "Swing Dance America". Lori has been the
floor show at many New York City night clubs, made numerous TV and movie appearances, and has taught and
performed all over the world, including on four continents and at least two oceans. One day she hopes to be
the first hustle dancer on the moon.
LISA PATERNOSTER - Teaching since she was 18 in all styles of partner dancing incl. Ballroom, Latin, Hustle &
Swing.  In 2006, took 4th place at the World Hustle Dance Championships and 2nd at the Zachary's Open Dance
Contest.  Ranked 3rd at the Open Van McCoy Regionals.  Although Hustle is one of her specialties, she has
competed and won titles in other styles of dance, incl. 2nd at the North Eastern American Rhythm Champs.  
She currently teaches Ballroom and Latin dancing in Long Island, which also includes her  work with middle

JOHN FESTA -John began Dj'ing in the early 90's at the New York Swing Dance Society's weekly dance.  He
started his own weekly dance a year or so later, then began the now-legendary party at North River Bar in
Tribeca in 1993.  That party ran for 7 years until the bar lost their lease in 2000.  It was a magical time in
NYC.  The energy and passion was unparalleled.  The full-un, blaring joy was a ride like no other.  He has had
a weekly swing party in Manhattan nearly non-stop since 1992.

BOBBY MORALES - Our headline Hustle DJ will be spinning the hottest Hustle music you've  ever heard.  That
might be a tall order for most, but not Bobby.  He's recognized as one of the  premier Hustle DJs in the world
for his unique ability to mix hustles' greatest dance classics with some of the coolest contemporary dance
tracks you've ever heard.  Bobby's deejaying and dancing resume spans over 30 years, having  headlined every
major Hustle event including Hustle USA, I.H.S.C., World  Hustle Dance Championship, Pacific Hustle and Salsa
Dance Classic, New  York Hustle Congress, Puerto Rico Hustle and Salsa Dance Festival and  Disco America.  He
was Lincoln Centers' Annual Hustle Gala DJ for 11  years and helped launch NYC's 2 longest running Hustle
parties, Stepping  Out Dance Studio Wednesdays and Lori Brizzi's Millennium Hustle.  He's currently rocking the
dancers at Millenium's Il Campanello party  and Soho Dances Monthly Hustle night, along with numerous national
guest spots.   Some of his dancing accomplishments include membership in the Latin Symbolics, one of New
York's original performing Hustle dance teams and featured dancer in the movie "Carlito's Way" and "The
Cowboy Way".   His unique style of Hustle, called a NY Street or Club style, combines the best of old and new
school steps and turns.  After numerous  requests, he finally put many of his signature moves in the
instructional video "Cool Move Revealed", one of Hustles best selling videos of all time.
STEVE NEEREN - 3 time NASDE award recipient and named the "Most Improved Male Swing Dancer" at 1997 US
Open Swing Dance Championships.  He has been competing, judging, teaching and a DJ on the West Coast
Swing circuit for the past 12 years.  Some of his competition titles include 1st Place Classic Div. (Boogie By The
Bay & New Years Dance Extravaganza), 1st Place Invitational Jack & Jill O'Rama,1st Place Professional Strictly
Swing(Mich. Classic Dance Champ). Steve has also taught West Coast Swing in England.  He currently teaches
West Coast Swing & Hustle in NYC.

KEN MERCIK - Music has been part of Ken’s life from an early age, and is accomplished with a variety of Horn,
String & Keyboard instruments. His first professional performance was at age 12 playing trumpet in his uncle’s
polka band. By age 17, he and a group of high school classmates won their division at the International Jazz
Fest held in Bermuda (Under 20 PC Division). He became involved in Dance in 1983 as an instructor in the Fred
Astair Ballroom studio system. Later he successfully competed in UCWDC and NASDE circuits until a severely
broken ankle ended the competition career in 1996. He has been DJ’ing nationally for 15+ years and has been
teaching & playing tunes for one of the longest running dances in North East, celebrating his 15th year in 2008.

MARTIN & DESIREE SMITH - left their home country South Africa in November 1999, as Kwazulu Natal Provincial
Professional Ballroom Champions.   They owned their own dance studio for   more than 10 years proving to be
the top studio in both social and competition dancing in their province.  Their first 2 years in New York State
they worked for Arthur Murray Dance Studios and Fred Astaire Dance Studios.  In August 2004 they opened
their own dancing studio, “Smiths Dancing School” in Thornwood.  They are both highly qualified with the
Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance (ISTD), the most prestigious and respected dance association in the
world. Martin is a national committee member for the United States branch of the ISTD (USISTD). They are able
to teach all 5 styles of Ballroom dance. They teach adults and children, young and old, both competitively and
socially, in group and private sessions.  They currently demonstrate in all styles and compete in the
International Ballroom discipline.
MICHAEL STAVOLA - Ballroom DanceSport Westport, CT - Founder, Owner and Director Michael is professionally
trained and certified as a dance instructor. He has received Top Teacher Awards in many regional
competitions. Michael is the coach of the Fairfield University Ballroom Club. He has instructed at Norwalk
Community College and was the head of dance instruction for the 8th grade classes of the Monroe School
system. Locally, he teaches the summer ballroom dance classes for the Fairfield Parks and recreation & runs
after school ballroom programs for the Easton Recreation Department.
