| 8 Top DJs bring their best and vie for the title of The North East’s #1 Salsa Congress DJ and $1000 in Winner-Take-All Prize Money. Overview: This contest is all about the music and the dancers. We are looking to crown the DJ who most moves the dancers at our Salsa Festival. The winner will be recognized for their flow, groove, variety and how well the dancers were inspired. This is not a mixing contest. The emphasis is to be on the music and how the dancers react to it. Judging will be by a panel of top professional and social dancers. Fundamentally, the judges will be looking for an outstanding dance experience from your set. PRIZE:
All contestants will be promoted throughout the year on the CT Salsa Fest website and in related promotional materials. Whenever possible, we will link your name/picture to your website to give you some additional promotional benefit. Order of appearance will be chosen by blind draw prior to the start of the event. There will be two DJ set-ups, both with 2 CD players and a mixer. One will be used for the DJ currently playing and the other will be used for the following DJ to set up his gear and prepare to play. The CT Salsa Fest MC will introduce each DJ at the start of their set and will announce their name again at the end of their set. You may not use any voice-overs or promotional mentions of your name/organisation in your set. No signs or banners or promo materials are permitted as part of your appearance during the contest.
